What It's About:
Winter Cabin Camping is a fun weekend trip open to all Scouts in Pack 47. We have time as a Pack, time in our Dens, and free time to play outside. Camp Rokilio is a unique cabin camping experience featuring four different themed buildings: Fort Keller, Kohler Castle, Oertle Train Station, and the Viking Ship. Our Pack will be assigned to the Castle and/or Train Station.
Who can go:
· Scout and 1 parent per family. Moms are welcome and encouraged to come. There are private rooms for females, but it is important to let us know on the Google form which parent is coming so we can make proper room assignments.
· There are 96 beds total, so it is first come, first served, based on the Google Form return order. It will be an unusual situation if all bunks are filled and there are families that still want to participate. If that is the case, and you do not get a bunk, you can still come on Saturday and be involved with all activities.
· We accommodate schedules. Please inquire with the Cubmaster if you have conflict with any part of weekend.
· Each Lion and Tiger need a parent or guardian present at all times. You may not designate another attending parent or guardian.
Accommodations
· Castle/Train station - has all amenities including full kitchen, bathrooms, showers
· Bunk beds - each bed has a 3-inch vinyl mattress. Twin fitted sheets work great. Some bring full bedding, others sleeping bags (fitted sheet is still recommended)
· Most will sleep in general population. Females/Leaders will get private rooms with their scouts. Ear plugs highly recommended!
· There will be a steady stream of coffee available all day

Other Details
· Pack provides all food. Please do not bring extra food unless you have a dietary restriction.
· See gear list (listed below.) Extra gloves are really important. Bring boot/glove dryers too.
· The camp does not provide any outdoor equipment. You must bring you own sled.
· Bring ice fishing gear if desired
· The Scouts love rockets! An all-in-one kit is inexpensive on Amazon. Hobby Lobby also has everything you need. They are easy to set up and use. The boys love them.
· To minimize waste, please bring a labeled personal water bottle and insulated coffee mug.
· BSA-required A and B medical forms and insurance information needed for all overnight trips (link included). You will need these when you check in with your cabin chief (Doug Bertrand, Chris Neuharth). We will not keep these forms past the camping experience.
· A negative COVID test would be much appreciated but is not required. We do not want to be responsible for another outbreak at Merton Primary.
· If you or your Scout are experiencing any symptoms of COVID or flu, please stay home.
· We cannot place enough emphasis on the help we need to run this event. If everyone pitches in with food prep, cooking, cleaning, running the games at the carnival, it goes quickly and smoothly. This weekend is all about the boys.
